Shortcuts 2.1 Beta 1 Released

Apples Shortcuts-team is hard at work on making the Shortcuts app even better.

On October 4 Apple releases the First Beta of the upcoming Shortcuts version 2.1

Changes in Shortcuts 2.1 Beta 1

• Added new actions for Weather and Photos:
  • Get Current Weather
  • Get Weather Forecast
  • Get Last Photo Import
• Added a “Start Immediately” mode in the Take Video action
• Fixed an issue where Search iTunes Store and Search App Store caused an error message to appear
• Fixed an issue where the Dropbox file picker could not navigate into folders
• Fixed an issue where the Shortcuts app may hang on reminder creation
• Fixed an issue where the Append to File action did not behave properly when the specified filename did not end in .txt
• Fixed an issue where Clock app actions always showed when run, even when the “Show When Run” switch is off
• Other bug fixes

Developer can request access to the new beta from their Developer Portal at developer.apple.com.

We just got our hand on the new beta, and will begin playing around with it.

We are also updating ShareShortcuts to show what version of the Shortcuts app a specific Shortcut was created with. More about this later.
