This Shortcut allows you to check email or messages for two minutes while Pluto TV is playing commercials.
The Shortcut automatically returns to Pluto TV after 118 seconds (~2 minutes)
Use a series of IF statements to choose a suitable duration corresponding to the OriginalApp
Obtain original volume and brightness so these values can be restored in two minutes (118 seconds)
Whenever this Shortcut is Run, yet CurrVolume is LessThan 7%, THIS INSTANCE WILL IMMEDIATELY SET REASONABLE Brightness,Volume AND EXIT (because I do not use json to preserve values between instances.)
Insert code to detect and immediately restore volume and brightness!!
Mute volume
Also, dim screen (optional)
for specified duration of time.
AFTER WAITING, JUMP BACK TO THE ORIGINAL APP THAT WAS OPEN.
This if looks weird but it means:
If the name of original app name is not BLANK Open the original app.
The following code tests and verifies whether or not an undue delay occurred from external factors during the Wait action. A ten (10) second variance is tolerable.
2025August25 NOTE : a known
bug in Pluto TV version 5.69.53 is iff you completely hide the floating Pluto TV overlay screen for two minutes, while in another app Pluto TV will not restore the video portion of the stream only the audio portion.
Don’t completely hide the Pluto TV feed else you may need to relaunch Pluto TV to restore video streaming.
