Best By Summary is the companion shortcut to Best By, an expiration date tracking shortcut.

Best By Summary allows users to view  a summary of all items set to expire within the next three days. All items are grouped by expiration date and housed in their own individual list for clear and simple viewing. The summary report is also saved as a PDF to your iCloud Drive.

Best By Summary can also be used in Automations!  

Just copy the shortcut configuration (left) and automation (right) shown in the images here.

Note: For the first ‘Get’ action, use a similar action from whichever app you selected as your default app for Best By (Reminders, Calendar, or Clock). If app selected is Reminders or Calendar, also select the appropriate list or calendar, respectively, that you selected to use with Best By.

Example  

If you selected Reminders for your default app, you would select the 'Get Upcoming Reminders' for the first action.
